Kayaking — A Great Way to Enjoy the Angelina River

One of the best ways to enjoy the scenic and tranquil Angelina River is with a kayak. Here at La Paz, we are happy to offer our guests canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets to explore this little corner of paradise.

Regardless of your kayaking experience, the Big Thicket area offers something for everyone. Want to learn more about the Angelina River and be accompanied by a local expert? We are also happy to provide you with a guided tour for an additional fee.

The Angelina River is formed by the junction of Barnhardt, Shawnee, and Scober Creeks 3 miles northwest of Laneville, and flows southeast for 120 miles. Forming the boundaries between the Nacogdoches and Cherokee, Nacagdoches and Angelina, and San Augustine and Angelina counties, the Angelina River empties into the Neches River 12 miles north of Jasper.
